Is there any other device you could try connecting to both of the computers to make sure each computer's serial port is working That would help verify that the serial port is correctly installed and configured on each computer. This just let to confusion when logging in nothing big but this problem has happened ever since so I wasn't sure if it is related. 1 Answer Sorted by: 2 The first thing I would check is the serial communication hardware. I have tried temporarily turning off my windows firewall to no avail.
